Like fog on the glass,
It takes time
To see a full picture.
Perception gets hazy sometimes,
Loop another night.
Refresh till the morning,
Trying to stay focused.
Acrylic strokes
Brush through my mind,
Blurry between lines.
Colours and noise
Contrast and conflict
Orange obstacles.
Don’t be consumed
By the blue shades of pseudo.
Looking through five holes
I see glass lenses
Focus.
Kadeem Jenkins is a writer, performer, and spoken word poet from London. Kadeem was the first place winner of London’s Got Talent competition and fundraiser hosted by Single Women In Motherhood in 2016. He has performed in London for over four years, and is currently a student at Fanshawe College.
